About The Train
There are 19 cabins in this train which includes 11 guest coaches. Each coach in named after an era of South India and the cabin is designed in the décor of that particular era. Intricate design, antique upholstery and modern amenities can be found in each cabin. Each cabin has a satellite TV, upholstery, air conditioner, attached bathroom, padded beds, writing desk and others.
Dining
There are two coaches that are dedicated to restaurants namely the Nala and Ruchi. These restaurants have aesthetic design and tasty cuisine of Indian subcontinent and also international cuisines. Apart from a long menu, guests can order any dish that they prefer to have. Each restaurant has a full functioning bar with various international and Indian branded alcohols. You would also enjoy some cultural performances onboard. There is a gym, Ayurvedic spa and a guest lounge in the train.
DAY 01 : Bangalore
After you arrive to the town of Bangalore, you would check into the hotel Taj West End. After a refreshing tea, you would be escorted to board the Golden Chariot for the Pride of South tour. Before you start to the railway station, you would enjoy some cultural shows at Chitrakala Parishad and other attractions. Or, you can also enjoy an eco vacation in Our Native Village.
No matter which option you choose, you would be back to the railway station by 8 in the evening. The train starts from Yeshwanthpur Railway Station by 8:30 PM after welcome party. Dinner would be served on board and the train would start towards Kabini
DAY 02 : Kabini/Bandipur
After breakfast, you would start your vacation by enjoying the wildlife attraction in Kabini. By 1 in the afternoon, you would reach the jungle lodge where you will have your lunch. Then, you would head towards the Bandipur National Park. You would return to your rooms in the jungle resort by late evening. You would stay overnight in the resort.
DAY 03 : Mysore
You would head towards the train in the morning and start the journey towards Mysore. You would have your breakfast onboard and you would get down the train to start your road transportation to Mysore. You would have lunch on the way. You would reach Mysore by afternoon. You would start sightseeing immediately. The top attractions are Srirangapatnam temples, Brindavan Gardens and others. In the evening, you would visit the Lalitha Mahal Palace for enjoying a cultural performance. A little before midnight, you would reach your cabins and the train would start its travel to Hassan.
DAY 04 : Hassan
Hassan is an important religious destination. You would first visit Shravanbelagola and then you would visit Halebid and Belur by afternoon. You will be escorted back to your cabin by early evening. The evening is all yours. You can enjoy the services and amenities inside the train. The train would be on its track towards Hospet.
DAY 05 : Hospet
You would arrive at Hospet by early morning. After breakfast, you would visit the Virupaksha temple, crafts bazaar, Elephant stable and others. You would reach your cabin for lunch onboard. After a few hours of relaxation, you would visit Hampi, Hazara Rama Temple, Royal Enclosure, Vittala Temple and other attractions. You would reach your cabin by late evening for dinner and sleep.
DAY 06 : Badami
By very early morning, the train would enter Badami. You would get off the train by 9 in the morning after breakfast to walk around the town of Badami. You would enjoy a lot of attractions like the caves of Badami, Pattadakal and others. You would reach your cabins for lunch. As you rest for the day, the train would start its journey towards Goa. Dinner will be served onboard and you would reach Goa by midnight.
DAY 07 : Goa
You would start your Goa tour after breakfast. You would first visit churches, architectural marvels, Sola Souto Maior and others. You would enjoy a Goan lunch at Sojourn. Evening is for water. You can also enjoy some Ayurvedic massage sessions. You would return back to your cabin by late evening and the train would start its journey towards Bangalore.
DAY 08 : Bangalore (Return)
You would reach Bangalore by early morning. Breakfast would be served onboard. The train would stop at Yashwanthpur Railway Station by 11 in the morning. After check-out formalities, you can either choose the airport to board your departure flight or you can stay back in Bangalore and enjoy attractions in the city.
